Another approach with benefit is recycling material into fresh asphalt or crushing and reusing with gravel surfacing for spreading on low traffic roads. With hot sunny weather, the RAP with gravel surface tends to bind together with traffic. I have seen this gravel mix approach used only once, but impressed. I have also seen RAP deposited on land. It made the surface basically unusable, but perhaps some sites for snakes, mice, etc. It has no scenic appeal.
