For your autoethnography, are you asking whether you can create valid knowledge through this approach? My answer to this question is yes if you conduct the autoethography well and bracket the knowledge you create.
No, the knowledge is not something we create but it is matter we discover. Can we create knowledge about the earth, that it is flat? We discover what shape it is. We create the way we describe and process the knowledge but we should not misinterpret it with knowledge per se.
