I don't see any problem in using Trizol in this situation

But I've read this article

It says that 

"attempts to use trizol and other reagents to extract total RNA from apple fruit and flower tissues have failed to provide high enough quality and quantity of total RNA necessary for cDNA library construction"

However, you can test with a sample and see for your self the quality of RNA you get

I think there is small test sample of trizol and similar reagents in the market.

I think it should be no problem.

But probably the mRNA species in the total RNA can be different when skins of different mature-staged apples are used, due to some genes are turned on and some genes are turned off.
