What is the academic-rule/practice regarding research-findings to write books using texts from already published articles reflecting the findings?
You need permission from the journal editors and publishers. Check the agreement that you signed with the publishers prior to publication of your articles. Normally, permission to republish your work is stipulated in the author's agreement with the publisher document. All the best.

You may approach to a publisher for the specific guidelines. In general, reuse of published texts and findings in a new book requires permission from the publishers. Additionally, an appropriate citation to the reused content should be provided in the book.
One can obtain copyright for a used text similar to the manner for using a figure in a review article or elsewhere using Rightslink-Copyright Clearance Center. Please refer the attachment.
The reuse of of the published material not allowed and the permission of publisher (copy right holder) is required. One can approach Rightslink for copyrght clearance.
