Can I use Poly L Lysine in powder to coat slides?

I am preparing my slides in order to stain tissues by Immunohistofluorescence, and all the protocols I've read use liquid Poly L. I would like to know if it is OK to use one that comes in powder and can be diluted in water or PBS.
