I'm doing an experiment on bioelelectrochemical wastewater treatment with acetonitrile. I want to make a two chamber reactor so that the cathode and anode are separated from eachother. I know someone who can make my design of the reactor with plexiglass (PMMA). But I've found that plexi isn't chemically resistant to acetonitrile. The concentration of acetonitrile will be rather low though (200 mg/L) so I thought maybe it's not going to affect the plexi. What do you guys think, can I use plexi with a low concentration of acetonitrile or not? The duration of one experiment will be 10h and I will run like 20 experiments.

Even if the low concentration of acetonitrile does not compromise the chemical structure of PMMA in the short or medium term, pay attention to the adsorptive phenomena involved in the system. This will significantly affect the solute concentrations handled.
Think about it.
It is always better to work with materials which are stable in reaction media. But if there is no alternative to PMMA then you first can check its stability in your low concentration of acetonitrile. So prepare this solution, put there a weighed portion of your plex for a long time of your interest. Then check its weight, check also by drying or by other technique if the solution does not contain polymer residue. If all is OK you can use this polymer. If not then look for another polymer. It depends)
