Hello

I'm doing a thesis on removing acetonitrile in simulated waste water with nitralase producing bacteria combined with electrolysis. I have to investigate the mechanism behind the removal-procedure. That's why I will use a two chamber reactor for my research (there were already tests with a single chamber reactor). Now I'm wondering what membrane I should use between the two reactors (anode- and cathodereactor). I've found that I can use a Nafionmembrane (PEM) but I'm not 100% sure. If I'm understanding it correct, protons will be produced at the cathode. When these protons can move through the membrane to the anode then the electrical circuit will be closed. Or is that a wrong assumption?

Thanks for your help.
