I am working on pant extracts against
Xanthomonas axonopodis bacteria. Can I use peptone instead of tryptone for bacterial motility test (swarming, swimming and twitching)? Is there any one to tell me the right swarming, swimming and twitching media for the above bacteria. Can I use nutrient broth (8g), glucose 5g and Backo agar 5g as Swarming media, Peptone/tryptone 10g, yeast extract/NaCl 5g, agar 3g as swimming media and peptone/tryptone 10g, yeast extract 5g, NaCl 5 g, agar 10g as twitching media??

Boh peptone and tryptone supply nitrogen for the bacteria. So, you can use peptone instead of tryptone.
