I am currently looking at using the molybdenum blue method for analyzing phosphorus in dry biomass but have read few pieces of literature which indicate that the presence of the antimony in the sample, though reported as a stabilizer of the blue colour formed, also reduces the intensity of the blue colour thereby affecting the results. How far is this assertion true? If yes can someone assist with a protocol for using this same method without the use of antimony based tartrate?
