Hi, I am trying to figure out if I can use snowball, convenience and volunteer sampling methods at the same time for a single survey ? For instance, if I send emails, post public posts social media and within both ask my audience to recruit other participants?
Combining multiple sampling techniques is referred to as multistage or multilevel sampling. To my knowledge, multistage sampling can be used by dividing a certain population into clusters or strata and then recruiting a random sample or any other kind of sample. You can also combine a probability sampling technique with a non-probability sampling. Pertaining to the combination of convenient, snowball, or volunteer sampling, there is no advantage because essentially all of these techniques are non-probability sampling techniques. Therefore, statistically you cannot extrapolate the results to your target population. So, even if you combine these three or not, it would still consider it a convenience sample.

The thing is, if I sent out the online survey by private message to my contacts and made public posts on social media, and additional asked my audience to share my study with others, how should I qualify my sampling? I feel like I relied on snowball, convenience and volunteer sampling methods. But it is not multi stage as I did it all at the same time. The aim was purely to get as many participants as possible.

If you use a non_probability sampling, you can not get the standard error of your estimates
I think, this wont be appropriate because the level of commitment of respondents in each case will be different...
