Some literature use SPT to determine allergy incidence in grass mix and cereal mix, or include an array of grass species and additionally includes barley, wheat, oat and maize. Grasses are dominant in the vegetation of my study area. My aim is to have a minimum battery. I initially selected one species representing a grass subfamily, assuming cross-reactivity. Most cereals a part of the Pooide subfamily also represented by Poa or Phleum.

You can use virtually almost everything in a SPT panel, since there are proteins in the material (prick to prick). If you have the support of a basic laboratory, you can make a solution, so you can extract out the lipids of your material (usually by centrifugation and lipidic solvents), so you can concentrate your solution (dialysis) and so you can measure the proteic mass of your material by spectrometry, what would provide you a more reliable result. Before the "ready to buy" allergens era, this was the way doctors made (Allergology was a lab specialty), We lost it! ... Every allergist should have a lab facility nearby his test room.
