I would like to protect some work. Can i publish a paper on researchgate and generate a DOI for it before submission to an international journal ? this act is legal or not ?
in case of acceptance, the published paper on researchgate must be removed ?

It is recommended to publish works in researchgate after being published in a journal
or conference, for the author rights protection.

At the outset if you are associated with the international magazine for your publication & in the past you have jointly taken your publication both for the research & international journal.
In case if you have already associated with membership of international journal than it is good practice to submit your publication first to the international journal & after wards you may carry with our RG .
In case if you are not approve of the international journal you may take recourse in which ever the mode you wish to carry out your publication.
