I am working on Discussion chapter of my PhD thesis. My research is a phenomenological. I made a rich literature review on the phenomena (about 40 pages). However, in my discussion, when I build a dialogue between my findings and the literature, I find that some other good scholarly works can be introduced in the discussion. I am afraid if this is methodologically okay. I am thankful if someone could clarify this and provide a good reference if it is justifiable. Thank you.
In general, one does not introduce new literature in the Discussion section, especially if this is just updating basic elements of your original literature review.
However, in qualitative research it is possible to discover that ideas you had not previously considered are relevant to your research. In that case you would not want to add things to literature review that you had not considered prior to doing the research, so the Discussion section would be the most sensible alternative.
Yes, you are free to use whatever gives strength to the core argument of your discussions in the chapter. However, you must be careful not to use something redundantly.

When it comes to discuss the finding comparing to the literature sometimes I find valuable academic works that I have not included in the literature review. So, I will carefully deal with new references.
Generating of possible concepts and new theories based on the findings.
In this regards, again, I will have to present such possible concepts and theories using some academic works that I did not present earlier. I would be thankful if I got advice in this regard. Thank you.
