Can I get valuable information from the alkali solution resulted from the alkali treatment of plant fiber using UV/Vis or any other methods?

I treated the fiber with 5% NaHO, @ 80, for an hour, twice. The solution get black in the first and light blue in the second treatment.

The temperature and duration of the treatment can affect the degree to which the fibers are broken down and the final properties of the treated material.

The color change you observed during the treatment process may be due to various chemical reactions that occurred as the fibers were exposed to the sodium hydroxide solution. It is possible that the fibers underwent some degree of degradation, which can lead to the production of various byproducts that contribute to the color change.
