Can I get help from any one who worked on Ad-hoc routing protocol?

I am currently working on ad-hoc multipath routing protocol. As part of my work am trying to add a new field to the packet header(RREQ/RREP).... but am getting error after installing my cloned protocol. It seems i'm wrong with the way I add those fields. so could any one suggest me the right way to do that(adding new fields? any help is appreciated!
