I'm thinking about making system to generate several Tesla magnetic field. We will have typical coil-type ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) and external B field is imposed on plasma. As plasma dimension will be about few cm in width and ~10 cm in length, I got rid of idea using permanent magnet which should be too big according to my friend. I guess pulsed magnet is good option for me as single-shot magnetic field generation is okay.
Could you please suggest me good reference paper for this method? I even don't know how to start this job.
You should simply convert a large amount of electrostatic energy into magnetic energy. This could be accomplished realizing an high voltage LC circuit, closed by a fast switch, tipically a spark-gap.
