Is it possible to get a comprehensive classification of the functions used in the DFT method and what depends on the use of one without the other. Please I need a detailed source of this and how to distinguish it from some and what is meant by abbreviations ?

DFT is certainly no mythical “black box” that can be mindlessly applied to current problems of interest in inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry, and practical considerations always limit choices. Clearly, there is no single answer to the title question.
Khulood , can you add more explaniation about your quesion. which types of function that are u going to classify it? u know that the objective of pattern recognition is generalization.so, i think in this satution it is better to use one of the supervised machine learning techniques ( GMM,HMM,NN and so on) . also, your optimal solution depends on your feature vector input.

your question needs more explanation. why you need DFT functions.
you can use more appropriate feature extraction (wavelets, histogram, ...) and classification methods (e.g. SVM, CNN and ...).
