04 October 2019 16 5K Report

I ran a series of workshops in which experts were divided into small groups and asked to discuss various points. After the discussion, they returned to the larger group and reported their views back. As they were summarising their points and as the general discussion was unfolding, my colleague (another researcher) took notes (we did not audio or video record these events). We have gathered a lot of very interesting data which has never been documented before and which came out of very rich brainstorming sessions among experts from many disciplines. However, these written notes are formed of (often) incomplete statements and bullet points which may have, of course, been filtered by my colleague taking the notes.

My 2 questions for you:

1. Is it acceptable to run a thematic analysis of these notes, although having summaries of ideas instead of complete statements does make it difficult for me to accurately contextualise them?

2. Might this analysis be publishable as a peer-reviewed article?

Many thanks indeed!
