I've been working with fatigue testing using automotive steels and I get stucked in a curious aspect:

In staircase fatigue method, using uniaxial tensile fatigue test and R=0.1, we get a fatigue limit higher than the Yield Strenght of the material.

In this case: fatigue limit=220 MPa; the Yield Strength = 170 MPa.

Have you ever been in such case? That's not the only one test where it happens.
