I have the following two curves in the attached figure for same acidic solution contains plant extract, but at different conditions, can discuss the following points:
1. shifting up or down (i.e changing in transmission T%).
2. what is the main expected chemicals in this acid -organic solution.
notes:
1. acidic solution contains a few concentration of plant extract (organic materials).
2. Before: mean before immersion of steel sample in the solution (corrosion test).
3. After: mean after immersion of steel sample in the solution (corrosion test).
Firstly, your wavenumber axis is off. The peaks at ~2300cm-1 are from atmospheric contributions and should overlap, independent of sample. The increased transmission after immersion is probably due to reduced thickness.
The transimittance variance perhaps originate from the thickness change. How do you measure the FTIR spectra. Used the thin film directly or made a palate with KBr? This will affect a lot. Some new peaks appear and some peaks shift, indicating the occured reaction. I think you should check the FTIR database or literature to consider what reactions happens.
