I am trying to analyze some MALS data for protein polymer fusions I am working on, and the dn/dc values are not known for them. They are very irregular proteins - highly repetitive sequences composed of only 3 different amino acids - so I anticipate that using a dn/dc for a "standard" protein would leave me pretty far off the mark. What I am wondering, is if I can take the dn/dc values for the amino acids and basically average them to approximate the dn/dc for the whole protein. I'm sure this wouldn't be perfect but my assumption is that it would be close. Is this a valid assumption?
