Hi all, Has anyone tried to replicate the results of metamaterial unit cell in the paper by D.R. Smith, using COMSOL Multiphysics? In the paper, the HFSS simulation tool has been used. I have noted that in HFSS there is MASTER-SLAVE boundary condition and the P-M and P-E boundary condtions which are diffrent from the one in COMSOL i.e. periodic condition, i am not sure whether this is the source of the difference or COMSOL is limited. i am not able to replicate the results. If anyone has tried it with using COMSOL, kindly help.

the master/slave boundary in HFSS gives the same results using the perfect E and H boundary.The comsol is a frequency domain solver, so it gives the same result of the HFSS with the approparate meshing size and time
The COMSOL Software package is the suitable and the more recommended one for the typologies which are hard to be described by the other software packages especially for nano-antena applications. You can grasp more information for the main differences between these packages using the attached file.
