Is it possible to obtain a uniform coating of nanostructured titanium dioxide by applying a constant voltage or current between two ITO-glasses immersed in a suspension of titania nanoparticles?
It is needed to further immobilize the protein on the substrate TiO2.
No, because no electrochemical/redox process is involved in the intended transfer of TiO2 particles from a suspension state to an adhered film (to a solid surface) state .
Thank you very much! However, i read about electrophoretic deposition (EPD) of TiO2 from suspension. I thought, that this process is the same that i outlined in the my question. What is difference between the EPD and the simple applying of voltage beetween the two conductive glasses, immersed in the TiO2 suspension with acid pH?
The principles, instrumentation and all conditions are different. The voltammetric techniques are based on a redox (electrochemical) process, EPD is based on a physical process (migration in an electric field). The applied voltage is significantly higher in EPD, not available with a potentiostat.
