The global economy is presently taking a dramatic turn in economic, strategic, and geopolitical order in which the blue economy has taken a pivotal role.
Blue economy is designed to be sustainable in the recycling of ocean resources so that resources are preserved to last longer through its natural growth. Growth may not achieve maximum capability but will last longer on its self-sustaining resources.
In my opinion, the blue economy can achieve the level of sustainable development in almost 100%, i.e. max. in over 95 percent but perhaps not to the full extent of 100%, because the scale of pollution of the seas and the Eocene is so great that even if there were now improvements to be made to purify and rehabilitate marine and ocean environments, it would stop dumping rubbish into the seas and oceans and on all rivers Highly effective wastewater treatment plants are, and so the pollution and progressive climate change have already caused significant changes in marine and oceanic natural ecosystems. Of course, in the future, the scale of sustainability will grow for both the green economy and the blue economy, but it will be 100%. the level of sustainability will be difficult to achieve as some aspects of the negative effects of civilization development and the negative impact of this development on terrestrial and marine natural ecosystems are no longer being repaired and rehabilitated. For example, many species of flora and fauna that have gone extinct over the past 200 years cannot be restored. The level of biodiversity of natural ecosystems has been significantly impoverished. However, on the other hand, there is still a lot to be saved and it is only up to us, people, to decide what part of nature can be saved from destruction.
The issue of the so-called "Blue Economy"''s possibilities is indeed a very big one! There is a whole series of issues, often not dissimilar to those we consider when we speak and write about the "Green Economy". Letting amateurs run riot in activities in both sectors can indeed be of much harm bioth to the environments themselves and to the whole humanity! I am convinced that:
- All countries need to engage in very wide legislative programmes providing for funding and covering such blue and green activigties;
- Joing programnmes involving more than one country stand much better chances of success;
- Drastic disciplining of individuals or entities who pollute the seas may well serve to help provide the big funding needed to clean up certain areas.
- Coastal guards and other professionals working in this area must absolutely be serious academically trained.
- Studies of all types of marine life and its protection must not be a one-off process but a regularly ongoing and endless process.
- Universities, countries armed forces, civil society bodies and NGOs, the media, and the whole of a country's political class, must be wholly behind such projects.
Yes, the blue economy can be a very positive economic activity for the whole world!
The blue economy can achieve sustainability if it is applied in a planned manner and takes into account the ability of the ecosystem to regenerate. There are many countries that possess the components of the blue economy, including Bangladesh, which provides many job opportunities. The sea, where the surrounding waters from three sides provided great opportunities for the emergence of the blue economy, or the so-called economy of the seas and oceans. Accept my best regards. The blue economy acts as a catalyst for policy development, investment and innovation in support of food security, poverty reduction and sustainable management of water resources, through aquaculture, and the promotion of policies and good practices for the sustainable cultivation of fish and marine plants.
The word “sustainability “ has many connotations , but one of them should also be “Knowing when to stop”.... even in the blue economy it is vital that we humans know where and when we should no longer persist with a specific activity and simply put a stop to it!
Not to do so inevitably carries irreparable consequences in the medium to short term.
