a suggestion : before to apply the calibration curve, phone to the Manufacturer in order to know how and where are coded the data (integer ? floating decimal? ... ). Only the manufacturer has the response to this request....

The files are probably stored in a PACS, and you will not have access to them. Retrieve a copy using DICOM, and use a DICOM toolkit to get the pixel-data.
