I wonder what is the right grid type for imaging iron oxide nanoparticles coated carbon nanotubes (short nanotubes 0.5-2 micron length). there are many grids used in the literature, I need to choose the right materials and mesh size.

For,carbon nanotubes (CNTs): as these must be dispersed as thinly as possible (mono-dispersed being ideal) on the carbon film coating TEM grids or Cu grid can also be preffered.
There are many types of TEM grid available in the market.Usually C coated Cu grids of 200 mesh size are suitable for various samples .In case of HRTEM study of CNTs,you can use thin holey C coated Cu grids for better result.

You can load any side for TEM .Coating is from light,so you can get some better result for HR imaging from light side instead of dark.
