In competitive circumstances, the individuals are far from rational decision making.Can anybody tell me what are the consequences of high competitive anxiety states especially in decision making?

Thank you very much for sharing insightful articles. As in these articles mentioned the competitors adjust their bids in the direction of their rivals. But these literature is not illustrative about the psychological process which lead to these consequences of competition(for instance overbidding). Could you please let me know your idea about the psychological process behind this context?
