I  thik that  you search an equivalent of Sth in shell domain , for the 3D model in abaqus simulations.

 There is no equivalent output of thickness for 3D mesh , but you can built  a method :

1 :  as a normal distance between 2 outer sides of continum part, finer  mesh  gives accurate thickness .

2 : Calculation from mesh sizes and normal strain thickness  output.

3:  Developping a python file tracking alghorthm of normal distance.
