I am looking for recent data on the prevalence of wheelchair use in the general population, this is a difficult one to quantify I know as wheelchair use may be transient or permanent. In addition I am seeking data on prevalence of pressure ulcers in this group. What I have found is mainly related to specific populations such as persons with spinal injuries but not wheelchair users in general.
Dear Georgina,I've conducted a point prevalence study on pressure ulcer in our hospital with minimn data set of EPUAP,apart from that we have taken data lack of sensory perception like spinal cord injuries/nerulogical disorders,body built and some other rsik factors lle use of sedation,mechanical vetilation,coma and general poor health care is really a cause for pressure ulcer,I;m happy to share,as the publication is i pipeline.please get in touch on my mail ID.
