Can anyone suggest a source of human/mouse ORFs for purchase already residing in retro/lentiviral vectors? I'm familiar with the Thermo Scientific/Open Biosystems, but are there others?
@ Devan. Yes, I have ordered many things from Addgene. However they do not have a source for ORFs which do not have known functions as people only put them in there after their paper comes out (generalizing of course). I am trying to find a source of ORFs already in retro/lenti vectors to speed up testing and discovery of new and nearly/untested genes. ORFs in a gateway library would also work as I could swap them over to a gateway retro/lenti as well.
Steven- OpenBiosystems tends to have the best prices, compared to other companies such as Origene. If you are looking to save costs, get a Gateway-ready retroviral or lentiviral plasmid from Addgene (Eric Campeau's reagents), and then purchase your cDNA of interest in an ENTR vector. Some are available through Addgene, while others can be obtained from vendors that sell plasmids from the Mammalian Genome Collection (Invitrogen, ATCC, ThermoFisher/OpenBiosystems). Other ATCC plasmids cDNA-encoding plasmids can be found at http://www.signaling-gateway.org/data/plasmid/Plasmid.cgi?rq=s_c_atcc_id&ky=
