Specifically, I need an antibody that will recognize p63 in mouse tissue. I have tried several with no success. Any and all recommendations are welcome!
Other than mouse skin tissue/keratinocytes or some other tissue where the expression level of p63 is high, its really hard to detect p63. Even though you try with all the good commercially available p63 antibody, you may fail to detect p63 if its abundance is low in your tissue. The most frequently used p63 antibody is clone 4A4 (it can detects both TA and delN isoforms). Alternatively, you can ask some researchers who generated antibody to p63 of their own.
I would recommend checking www.labome.com, which provides a free antibody database. The database suggests several antibodies against p63, provided by Abcam (rabbit polyclonal anti-human and anti-mouse antibodies), BioLegend (rabbit polyclonal Poly6190 anti-human and anti-mouse antibodies), Cell Signaling Technology and Santa Cruz Biotechnology: http://www.labome.com/review/gene/human/p63-antibody.html. All these antibodies can be used for Western blotting. Moreover, Poly6190 antibodies were validated for Western blotting using knock-out model (Ahronian et al., Plos One 2015).
