Can anyone recommend a solvent system to separate phospholipid classes from cerebral lipids by thin layer chromatography (silica gel plates)?

It depends on what you want exactly but I guess a good starting point might be: L J Macala, R K Yu, S Ando, Analysis of brain lipids by high performance thin-layer chromatography and densitometry., Journal of Lipid Research, Volume 24, Issue 9, 1983, Pages 1243-1250, ISSN 0022-2275, https://doi.org/10.1016/S0022-2275(20)37906-2. It is an open access paper (with some good references to other relevant papers).
