I did this (for Medicago, through MtGEA) but not through GEO. Just to precise the question: are you targeting one species or many ? (i.e. are you talking of one gene/species, or of one orthology family ?)

I have thought of this question myself recently. I am currently having a student looking this up. Hope it bears fruit in which case I will let you know.

Just thinking. Did you try by Blast and refining at organism level ?

Actually I just tried it with my favorite bug and a sample sequence (it failed, but probably due to the said organism...)

It depends on how you want the output, whether you want to see the pattern or u want RAW expression values of that single gene.

But there is a possibility in GEO:

You can look at the gene expression profile of that gene in GEO itself by searching under "GEO Profiles".

Then set your filters which are at your left on the page, then you can obtain what you want. You can download the results but im not really sure how does it look like.

In teh same way, u can also obtain single gene profile from EBI - Expression Atlas

and Gene Prof (http://www.geneprof.org/GeneProf/index.jsp).
