The authors highlight one study (Pell & Jarvis, 2005) wherein the chronbach alpha value of a scale deteriorated when used among older children when compared to younger children.

In another study cited in the same article- Lamb, Akmal and Petrie (2015), the alpha value of a different scale improved when used among older children when compared to younger children (those in kindergarten).
