I am looking for a method to detect ethylene gas concentration in a green house. I have tried SPME , Head space and GC-MS analysis but results were not satisfied. So is it better to detect ethylene gas concentration using a "Gas analyzer"? The gas analyzer hence has to be capable of measuring Ethylene gas in ppm level as well as ppb level. Hence, can anyone suggest me a an equipment from which I can detect ethylene concentration in an air sample? Or another method to detect ethylene gas ?

Although I don't know the procedure you used and the LoQ you desire, I would say it's strange that SPME-GC-MS failed to detect ethylene. Maybe you should more into this? Type of adsorbent, sampling procedure, transport to the lab, etc.
Alternatively, you could consider analytical thermal desorption (ATD) if you have access to such an instrument. "Play" with the adsorbent phases (though carboxen almost certainly works). In the lab I'm working, we would be able to detect ethylene in the ppt level (mol/mol) using ATD-GC-MS (SIM) in air samples, if we were looking for it, in a project just a few months ago.

Thank you for your information. Though i anlyzed sir samples using SPME or by just injecting air sample into GCMS, ethylene could not be identified. The GCMS peak did not match with Ethylene, but CO, N2, and other gases. Thats why i am looking for another suitable method to take acurate results.
