Hello everyone, i have sample of oral skin of human effected from cancer. Due to no background of the biology, i am unable to get info from the image. I shall be very thankful to him/her( bio-medical Optics person, Medical Imaging person) if he/she tell me all possible details which can be extracted from that image. I have other images too but i am displaying here only one image which is got by 50X objective of Polarization microscopy. This image is polarization intensity.Other images, i can discuss privately.Thanks

I will work with it today in our new and very powerful software package MIPAR (http://MIPAR.us). I am very confident I can extreme many parameters from your features. I'll make a recipe file for the automated analysis and I invite you to download MIPAR and run the recipe!
Just to clarify, I assume you are after a particle size distribution, and perhaps spacing and area fraction. Is this accurate?

@Leonhard Möckl thanks for your's reply. our imaging system is called Polarization PIMI (parametric Indirect microscopy). I used bright field source, used 50X objective used CCD of pixel 3.45 microns. i take this image by transmitted light though sample. my question is that where are the symbols of cancer decease in the picture??
@John Sosa this is just a software , what can i do with that ?? i can just apply it for trial. my question is that what are the characteristics which differentiate that image which is effected from cancer from the image which contains normal skin cell structure???

Thanks for the question. You are correct - it is indeed just software, but software that turns images into numbers. The numbers you extract are up to you. As I mentioned, we can measure traits such as particle size (or cell size if that's what those are), cell spacing, cell shape, cell volume fraction, cell clustering, and the list goes on and on. I have no idea which of these will be different in cancerous vs. non-cancerous skin - that is why you are doing the experiment!
I have sent you an email with a trial license key and will work with your image to produce an automated recipe which segments the cells and measures some of the properties I mentioned. I am here for whatever help you need!
