I'm trying to electropolymerize pyrrole on GCE using the electrochemical 3 electrode setup (GCE, Ag/AgCl, Pt wire) with PBS as the electrolyte. Also, How to find whether the Polymer is coated or not Pls explain.
How do you expect to use your deposited polymer once you get it? That will determine the target structure and thickness of your deposit. You can choose potentiodynamic, potentiostatic or galvanostatic deposition, in all cases you connect your GCE as the anode. If it somehow does not work with your PBS, try just chloride first.
PPy deposited at room temperature is dark and rough, if you really cannot see it by eye (GC is dark as well), try a microscope. Alternatively, make a CV of your working electrode before and after in a monomer-free solution. Should see difference immediately.
I'm trying to polymerize both glucose and pyrrole.. as molecular imprinted polymer...using electrochemical workstation. then glucose needs to be removed and the templete created is used to sense the glucose.
There are several papers dealing with electro-polymerization of pyrrole on GCE either on its own or with template molecule. This paper might help you, have a look.
