This disease has just been seen almost 20 percent of tomato plants in field. i think this disease related to deficiency of calcium. these tomato plants was planted in open field and because of cold weather, calcium couldn't be absorbed.
Symptoms of calcium deficiency was first seen on the oldest leaves. In cold weather, the transport of phosphorus in the plant is limited. For this reason, the violet coloration of the leaves.
Iron deficiency is a candidate, but it should be generalized in the field, as well as other nutrient defficiency and cold spell. Herbicide injury, also possible, should be related to contaminated sprayer or wind direction. Virus infection is expected to be scattered in the field.
Could it be nutrient deficiencies? Not sure how wide spread the issue is in the field. Check out this link http://www.haifa-group.com/knowledge_center/deficiencies/crops/vegetables/tomato/
