I am trying to determine the identity of an insect which attacks little bluestem while the plant is in vegetative stage. Dissection has revealed larva approximately 0.5MM in diameter and 5mm in length (see attached image). Infested shoots have been collected and are being held in rearing chambers in anticipation of adult insect emergence. Sweep netting has yielded a variety of small insects, some in greater frequency than others. Blue sticky board traps have collected quite a number of small insects. The predominant insect is shown in the attached images. Can anyone provide an ID?
