This ant was bitten by Ten years old boy. He went unconscious stage. so their parents have taken him to the hospital. Doctors were given treatment to the boy. Finally, the boy was died. Doctors ask me to identify the ant.
It's a Tetraponera - looks like Tetraponera rufonigra although photo is not great. Very painful sting (not a bite). Sounds like the boy went into anaphylactic shock from the sting.
The picture is not clear but the pedicel has two segments with the postpetiole distinctly separated from the gaster which is the characteristics of Pseudomyrmecinae see http://antsofafrica.org/ant_species_2012/tetraponera/tetraponera/tetraponera.htm
Siva, I am guessing that this species is from India? Can you please confirm this. If this is the case then the species is almost certainly Tetraponera rufonigra. It is readily identifiable by its red thorax. They commonly enter houses there. Many people get stung. For your reference: http://www.antwiki.org/wiki/Key_to_Tetraponera_of_India
