are there any side effects or is there damage to the oral mucosa and salivary glands if a regular ocp oestrogen is used sublingually? I've experimented with breaking the enteric coating and using sublingually compared to usual oral route and it's 2x as efficacious so before launching this protocol with my clients I'm investigating adverse events

In our ART center we occasionally use them through that route for Frozen cycles when the endometrium is refractory to respond oral or even vaginal route, however this of course for short period usually last few days of Hormonal endometrial preparation program for frozen cycles as a last step and it is not like regular use in OCP or Regular HRT protocol although we might use it bi daily . We have not noticed any particular side effect relating to the route.
Many thanks ...will read article suggested above....In the meantime I've suggested the patient simply break the pill and insert in vagina and seems to be working very well and affording very low dose use for replacement therapy....i.e. first pass kinetics avoided.
