Does anyone have a clue how to introduce pressure gradients effects into boundary layer profile definition? So far I was implementing boundary layer profile with zero pressure gradient at the inlet of my duct domain. Now I'd like to move a bit forward and try with adverse and favorable pressure gradients, but found it difficult to introduce in the BL profile python code. Could anyone help me?
Yes, it's a flat plate, I mean, the boundary layer profile that I'm applying as the inlet boundary condition, is based on flat plate
You can relate the mean pressure gradient to the surface stress, e.g. above an infinite surface (plate)...
Fully developed duct flow: no influence of the pressure gradient on the (nondimensional)profile shape. For the inlet, when the boundary layers on the duct sides have not yet merged in the middle, you might specify the self-similar Falkner-Skan solutions (positive or negative pressure gradients). The pressure gradient has an influence on the boundary-layer shape factor H_12 which is the ratio of the displacement thickness to the momentum-loss thickness.
