I will like to do modeling and simulation of solar pond in Ansys. Can anyone give a guide on how to go about it keeping in mind that solar pond get incident radiation from solar source?
The solar radiation in this case, for simplicity could be just considered as constant heat flux (kW/m2) to the solar pond system.
You did not mention, what in solar pond you exactly would like to simulate. Is it decrease in level of the pond due to evaporation? In that case, a VOF model having clear interface between air and water coupled with heat transfer should be appropriate.
Phase change of liquid water to water vapour during evaporation needs to be taken into account by including appropriate mass/energy source in the governing equation.
If you are looking at concentration increase of few elements in the solar pond due to evaporation, that needs to be taken into account by separate species equations.

I am a newbie in this, I will like to actually study performance of the pond vis a vis changing of the type of operating fluid. Do you have any particular text you can refer me to?
Apology for a late reply. The message unfortunately skipped my notice. I am not sure whether you have come across these following texts which should help you with the simulation methodology of solar pond:
