I am using Non-equilibrium Porous media model in Ansys Fluent 14.5, After clicking the option solid cell zone that overlaps ( spatially coincident) with the porous fluid zone. but I am getting trouble to solution intilization, Even for very simple case 2D rectangle case.
getting warning message "Flow boundary zone 10 is adjacent to a solid
zone (4). This problem MUST be fixed before solution can proceed!"
getting error message "2-4 pair has some non-overlapping cells"
If anybody done simulation of Non thermal Equilibrium in Porous Media on fluent Kindly help me.
Hi, in cell zone conditions, change your type from solid to fluid.

Actually its non-equilibrium porous medium, create a duplicate cell zone one with fluid and other is solid. I getting non-overlapping cells error. I don't know how fix it.
Hi, in boundary condition for those zones that have created after non-equ activation change boundary type to wall! i.e in inlet boundary the one that related to solid phase must change to wall. maybe this will help u.
I have another problem myself. I have 2 zones. and I used one of them as a interior part. and i couldn't find any solution for that

i have ever drawn a 0.5m*1.5m rectangle and set the interval size 0.001m, but after initialization, the fluent14.5 reminded me of the error: has some non-overlapping cells. then i make the interval size 0.0005m, fortunately the error disappeared.
however, now i build another model, no matter how i reduce the interval size, the error can not be solved.
i don't know why.
Non overlapping cells error usually occurs due to problem at interface. Match the mesh interface and problem will be solved.
Have you fixed the problem? I met the same one.

I am not a Fluent user, but the equations for porous medium convection using the two-temperature model (LTNE) are not very different from those for double diffusive convection. In each case there is a time derivative term and a diffusion term. So the latter case has two transport equations, one for the temperature and one for the solutal concentration, while for the former they are both temperature fields. No doubt many have persuaded Fluent to solve the latter system, and therefore, naively, I would expect it to cope with the former. Are you using two transport equations?
