Because in the project on teacher identity in Romania I have encountered difficulty in obtaining results from direct discussions with teachers (interview method) I would like to try another approach to the problem by applying a questionnaire. So any information about a questionnaire who aims to measure math teacher identity status will be useful for our project.

Number of factors that explain the differences in status between occupations; these can be categorized as follows: (a) differential between public and private sectors, (b) salaries and working conditions, (c) socio-cultural background, (d) government attitude, (e) ability to influence decision-making, and (f) attractiveness of the profession. Competitive culture has been introduced to the teaching profession because of the neoliberal-based education policies like merit-bonus payment, standardized testing, teacher evaluation system, and so on. Governmental policy makers wanted to show people the government’s big efforts to bring innovative change among teachers, but it has resulted in no positive fruit. Rather, those policies have played a role in breaking the cooperative culture among teachers. Second, students’ interest in learning has declined because of teaching to the test. It has brought about students’ bad behavior that teachers can’t control, school violence, and much burden on teachers.
