My final goal is to propagare an RF surface wave on a purely reactive surface (Zsurf). First of all I run a mode analysis on a 2D rectangular geometry with a surface current (emw.E/Zsurf) on the bottom edge, PML at the top edge and floquet conditions at side edges. The resutl is what I expect: a surface mode with appropriate effective mode and polarization. My problems start when I want to propagate the mode in a 3D geometry with ports. I draw a block with PML, floquet conditions and surface current as before and ports on remaining boundaries. To give to ports the right propagating mode I want to perform a boundary mode analysis and then assign the mode to ports. But, running the boundary mode analysis, I obtain only spurious modes; I do not get the same results of 2D mode analysis. Can someone figure the problem? Thanks to everyone
