I am working on PEDOT:PSS (Sigma aldrich, 1.3% dispersed)
Friends I wish to clarify the following:
1) Whether the band gap of PEDOT:PSS is indirect band gap? Can it be used as absorber layer in solar cells
2) What is the range of band gap in PEDOT:PSS

In the solar cells, it is used as a hole transporting layer (with a very low absorption). As the absorption from the PEDOT:PSS layer is pretty low and it tends to block electron transport, you cannot use it as active layer (absorber layer?) in your devices.
Depending on what kind of devices you would like to make and if you can find some dopant which would allow for both electron transport and charge separation in PEDOT:PSS+electron acceptor (dopant) active layers, in theory, you could use them as active layers. Keep in mind that usually PEDOT:PSS is dispersed in water and common electron acceptors are soluble in organic solvents so attempting this may lead to huge phase separation.
In summary, PEDOT:PSS is probably not the best material to use as active layer in organic solar cells.

if you want to declare the badn gap your self ( or the optical properties) you can use spectroscopic ellipsometry.

Maybe you know an institute with an spectroscopic ellipsometer? If you work on glass substrates it is helpful to use an beamcutter which we use with th Ep4-SE at our institute.

Can you tell me which model is used for measuring thickness or refractive index of PEDOT:PSS using ellipsometry?
The HOMO energy level of PEDOT:PSS is around 5.0 to 5.3 eV and the LUMO energy level is around 2.2 eV. BAnd gap is given by the difference in HOMO and lUMO energy level, which should be around 2.8 to 3.1 eV.
The very high bandgap of PEDOT:PSS makes it to allow the sunlight to pass through it/ in other words having very bad absorption. PEDOT:PSS is widely used as electron blocking layer in BHJ OSCs because of its high lying LUMO energy level i.e. around 2.2 eV.
