I am trying to select the best phylogenetic tree for a subset of taxa. I analysed the two trees using TREE-PUZZLE to get the marginal likelihood values, SH, KH etc. Then I used CONSEL to estimate the (Approximately Unbiased) AU value. Please find the results in the attached file (half a page long).
Would any one help me interpret these results by assigning which of those parameters has the priority to be used? If you have time, please explain the meaning for the best selection for each parameter.
The result is saying that the "unconstrained tree" is best, with all tests supporting this result.
In relation to which test/parameter should be prioritized I guess it depends on your goal, but a lot of the tests are also variations of each other. In most cases if you simply want support for choosing which tree is best then "log likelihood" should suffice; here the value closes to "0" is best. But again the other test support this choice.
