Basically i am working on the green synthesis of nanoparticles from different medicinal plants. In almost all cases i notice dark red color for the plant extract and reaction mixture after adding salts. Can anybody tell me the reason that what actually happens after salt addition. Does this indicates the synthesis of nanoparticles or it is something else?

Dear Javed, in the green synthesis of AgNPs, the change of color in the plant extract is considered as a normal think, and can be considered as a positive factor in the synthesis of AgNPs. Many works related the color change, however, to prove the synthesis you need the 2θ values (because AgNPSpresents face centered cubic (fcc) structure of silver, which confirmed the crystalline nature of synthesized AgNPs); MET; antimicrobial activity; and other analysis.@
