Of course , I can help you create a CSV file for bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer.
Here are the steps:
Open a new Excel spreadsheet.
In the first row, create the following columns: Author(s), Title, Year, Source, Volume, Issue, Pages, Abstract, Keywords.
For each paper you want to include in the analysis, enter the relevant information in the corresponding column. Be sure to separate multiple authors and keywords with a semicolon (;).
Save the file as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. To do this, select "Save As" and choose "CSV (Comma delimited)" from the list of file formats.
Once you have created the CSV file, you can import it into VOSviewer to perform bibliometric analysis.
Please Recommend my reply if you find it useful. Thanks
@Aahed Alhamamy, I have created a cvs file with the columns you suggested but a message error is displayed (Incorrect number of columns). Do you know what file type I should select (Web of science, Scopus, Dimensions ?)
Hi Andrea Milena Sánchez Romero did you find the solution for your problem? I am asking, because I am preparing my Excel file to import it in VOSviewer, and I would like to know what file type to select.
Yes, I found a solution. What you need to do, is login into the Scopus database with any institution ID; then, there is a search bar search there with key terms. Download your CSV file from the Scopus database, then upload it to VOSviewer and perform your bibliometric data analysis.
Mohammad Abdul Matin could you guide me on how to download from Web of Science CSV file, I have downloaded it from the Scopus database but don't know how to download it from WOS.
To import an Excel file into VOSviewer, you would typically need to save the Excel file as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. This file type is commonly used for data interchange and is compatible with various software applications, including VOSviewer.
To save your Excel file as a CSV, please follow these steps:
Open your Excel file.
Click on the "File" tab in the top-left corner.
Select "Save As" from the dropdown menu.
In the "Save As" dialog box, choose a location to save your file.
In the "Save as type" dropdown menu, select "CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)".
Click the "Save" button.
By saving your Excel file as a CSV, you will be able to import it into VOSviewer for further analysis.
Please note that the specific steps may vary slightly depending on your version of Excel. If you encounter any difficulties or have further questions, feel free to ask.
